Distracted driving is a serious situation which many people have experienced or have done. The age group with the highest percentage of fatalities due to being distracted while operating a vehicle is ages from 15-20. This may be shocking to some, but it could be expected from others. Whether it was trying to pull up maps, reading texts or calls, updating or checking social media, even online shopping. Our phones are controlling our lives, even possibly taking our lives by being distracted. During the month of September 2023, a survey was put out for the students of EHS. 27.5% of students, 9-12 grade have been distracted while operating a vehicle. 9.8% of students have been distracted due to their phones, while 9.8% of students have lost someone due to the issue of distracted driving.
