You may have seen her in the outfield or on third base for the East High softball team, or at Student Council meetings helping make decisions to make East better for her classmates. She’s always working hard to do the best she can and no matter where she is or what she’s doing. She always has a smile on her face when she’s doing it. Meet East High School junior Gracie Bailiff.
Bailiff is very involved at East High School. She is a good student, she is also on the softball team.
“I am very involved in schools I am in student government, I’m the junior senator, and I’m in National Honor Society, and I play school ball,” Bailiff said.
She has played softball since she was three, she has made a lot of memories and has had a lot of fun doing it.
“I started playing when I was three years old, I played every year since then so it’s a part of my life now, I have a lot of memories like hitting a home run out of the park, my favorite thing about softball is it keeps me and my dad closer and we have a stronger bond because we can bond over softball,” Bailiff said.
Playing at East Des Moines Girls Softball, Grandview Little League, and lastly East High School.
“Gracie is an extremely funny person, she loves to have a good time she is also a peace maker she doesn’t like it when there is any trouble so she always try’s to make a joke out of it because she doesn’t like tension, she is a great teammate,” softball coach James Giboo said.
Even though Bailiff is a junior, she already knows what she wants to do in the future.
“When I graduate, I want to go on a senior trip with my friends first and I want to attend University Of Iowa to get my diagnostic medical degree, to become a sonographer,” Bailiff said.
One of her favorite things to do is hangout and make memories with her friends .
“Gracie is a good friend she is loyal, trustworthy she is someone to trust and someone to talk to she can keep secrets and she’s very funny and nice,” sophomore Amonte Johnson said.
