Whether you want to dress up comfortably or warmly, stylish or fashionably, Senior, Angelyn Ly and Junior, Peter Manyvong have them all. Most of these clothes were either gifted, thrifted, bought online, or bought in shops. Her sweater, hat, scarf, jacket, and bag were all gifts. Her necklace was bought at the Hmong Village in Saint Paul, Minnesota and her Uggs were bought at Journeys in Jordan Creek Mall, West Des Moines, glasses were thrifted, then lastly, her skirt and legwarmers were both bought online from SHEIN. All of these clothing choices combined together created the perfect winter outfit, it is cozy, stylish, pleasing to the eye, and comfortable.

Standing out, another student with a fashionable winter look has made an appearance. Junior, Peter Manyvong has showed up in style. For his winter look, he threw on a black hoodie with a grey jacket layered on top of it. Then to finish his outfit, he put on a faded dark wash jeans and Timberland boots.
“Honestly it a pretty-basic look, it was just really cold, and I didn’t want to look bad,” Manyvong said.
Manyvong also dresses for the comfortability and simplicity for winter. It was cold and he wanted to have a baggier look in which he created this outfit from his own creativity, and to be able to create these outfits you can mostly find Manyvong going thrifting or shopping online.
“I get most of my clothes thrifting and shopping online. I usually thrift or shop online for signature pieces, but for the basics I shop at H&M, and for jeans I shop online or go to Urban Outfitters but if I’m feeling baller I will shop at Goldeneye,” Manyvong said.
The parts of Manyvong clothing that were bought in stores were his faded dark wash pants from Urban Outfitters and his black hoodie bought at Old Navy. His Timberland boots were bought online and lastly his jacket was thrifted. All of these clothing choices combined together created the perfect winter outfit for Manyvong. It is Comfortable, simple, warm, and stylish.
“In my wardrobe I have lots of basics like blank tee shirts, blank hoodies, blank sweats, but also have some signature pieces. Since it’s colder outside I have pulled out the work jackets and puffers, with baggy jeans because baggy jeans are the best, and when it gets warmer, I pull out the graphics tees or jerseys with jorts, and I have too many clothes in my wardrobe I can’t count,” Manyvong said.
To get an idea of Manyvong’s wardrobe he suggests shopping at H&M, Uniqlo, Target, or go to any thrift store you can find. Otherwise, Old Navy, Urban Outfitters, and Golden Eye are a big part of Manyvong’s wardrobe. Consider shopping at these places.
Manyvong doesn’t have much experience in the fashion field, but he does find fashion inspiring.
“I believe in “if you look good you feel good,” Manyvong said.
His tips in fashion are being yourself and don’t care what other people think, Manyvong dresses to be himself and he doesn’t care about others’ opinions. He also experiments in fashion, in the past years, he wears what he likes but then he started experimenting with different clothing and branching out into different styles. Like what he said, “If you look good you feel good,” so it is good to have confidence in expressing what you wear.
“Fashion can be a huge confidence boost for me and anyone, fashion also helps me express my creativity to others without saying anything, fashion helps with getting to know others that have the same or different style to you,” Manyvong said.
