Student, sister, daughter, co-editor-in-chief, extrovert, video game nerd. These are just a few words that describe senior Kaylee Consolver, beloved co-editor-in-chief in East Scroll.
Consolver is the co-editor-in-chief of the East High Scroll. She first got into journalism in her freshman year here at East alongside her best friend and has been it in ever since. Her favorite part of Scroll is meeting new people and getting to design. Consolver said the best part of East has been its close-knit community and the fact that being together is so important here.
“I did journalism with my best friend Vincent and then Mrs. Niemeyer was like, you should do newspaper or yearbook together… and I was like, okay maybe… then I just realized that I like school,” Consolver said.
Consolver lives with her adoptive parents and is the only child in her home. She has seven siblings but lives with just her parents and her cat, Sissy. In her free time, Consolver enjoys playing video games like Valorant, Marvel Rivals, and the Sims when she rage quits. She enjoys buying self help books that don’t really self help, reading, doing Scroll and going to work. After high school, Consolver plans on moving in with her best friend, Chandler, and finding a full-time sales job so she can continue the career she’s been in for two years.
“I plan on moving in with one of my best friends, Chandler. That’s my bestie so im moving in with her and then just like finding a full-time sales job because that’s where I work now,” Consolver said.
Consolver’s best friend, Chandler Formaro, describes her as a very kind and genuine person who is there for anyone when they need it. She admires Consolver’s attentiveness and the way that she can always carefully listen to what someone has to say with no judgement. Formaro says that being friends with Consolver is great because she can share her best laughs with her, talk about anything, and relate to many things together.
“My favorite memory or memories with her is probably when we really became friends again towards the end of freshman year because of our assigned seats together, and we got to bond over a lot of shared experiences,” Formaro said.
One member of staff here at East has made a profound impact on Consolver’s life and that is art teacher, Ashley Moore. Consolver says that Moore has been there for her since her freshman year and is like a mother to her.
“She’s helped me through it all. She’s helped me through high school, like, my entire high school career. I love her. That’s my bestie,” Consolver said.
Moore describes Consolver as intelligent, responsible, and down to earth. She says that Consolver is a great student and never has to wonder if she will finish her work because she knows she will. Moore said that Consolver has grown tremendously over the years, she knows her worth and won’t let anyone treat her poorly.
“I will miss her next year after she graduates, but im so proud of her accomplishments and plans for the future. I can’t wait to see what she does next,” Moore said.
Consolver has made a huge impact on East and its no doubt that she will be dearly missed by teachers and students alike.
