Jasmine Antonio Martinez is a friend, cousin, sister, daughter, niece, student at East High School. She is such a helper. She has always been someone you can count on and trust, she has a great and positive mindset and will always try to help you no matter what. She’s a great person to be connected with. Martinez has also impacted many lives, by how great of a person she is, the way she cares for others, how loving and caring she is, and the way she has been to many individuals.
Martinez moved to Des Moines, Iowa at the beginning of the year. Ever since she moved there, she has learned many new things that are different from the past places she’s lived. She was born and raised in Santa Maria, California. Where she made friends, memories, and her entire life was in California, but due to unforeseen circumstances, she had to move to Mexico. The new environment was challenging and hard for her, due to her having to leave a place she knew well and those she loved. Moving was challenging, Martinez still carries a piece of California with her as it holds many beautiful memories she has.
“As much as I love living here, I would still want to go back to California because all of my childhood friends live there and I have a lot of memories there,” Martinez said.
She misses California a lot due to the beaches, and all her friends and family she had to leave behind. Moving was also just difficult in general to do because she got attached to the places she lived and loved certain things about certain places. She was upset when she had to move since it meant leaving a lot behind. But even though she still misses those places she learned to overcome it and realized it wasn’t as bad as she thought it would be. Martinez also prefers East over the other schools she’s been to since it’s indoor, she likes it being indoor because now she doesn’t have to deal with weather problems while trying to get to class. Martinez not only enjoys it because it’s indoor but also because she’s met many new people and got the help she needed when she first transferred to East High School.
After that she had developed many new friends and found better things here at East. Some facts about Martinez are that she enjoys napping because its stress free, she loves anything with protein, she loves listening to music, her favorite artist is Tyler the Creator, she plays volleyball, and she loves being with her friends and family.
Martinez also loves going to the beach, watching sunsets, traveling, exploring, talking about her interests, and anything matcha. Martinez’s favorite season is Spring, she enjoys it due to it not being too cold or too hot.
