Between designing, writing, interviewing, editing, identifying, and picture taking, yearbook students truly do it all to make the best yearbook possible to preserve your high school memories. Who are the people behind the yearbook? How did they deal with the Wi-Fi being shut off? With this article you will see all the inner workings of the students who work together to make a 200-page book about East High School’s 2022-2023 year.

Let’s start with the editors, senior Selena Gonzalez, senior Brenda Moreno, and senior Samuel Wagner are the Quills coeditors in chiefs. Gonzalez regularly showcases her passion and determination as she drives the people around her to do their best. Moreno is focused on letting people figure things out for themselves she is caring for her friends. She’s the only person I’ve ever meet who promises to do a project later and mean it. Wagner is a perfectionist he holds himself and everyone else to the highest standard he really brings out the best in everyone. “The editors are important because we provide essential feedback to staffers on their pages in order to ensure what we publish can be as perfect as it can be. We are also responsible for creating the backbone of our product, from ladder to cover, to each page and the template and the font that goes on it. We are the first and last eyes on each publication” Gonzalez said. Along with the Quills editors in chiefs there are editors who work on subsections of the yearbook. Like Senior Grace Withee who is the feature editor, Sophomore Owen Littell the sports editor, Senior Tessa Rounds the senior editor, and senior Kayte Yaw the Quills photo editor and senior coeditor. Sophomore Christopher Ramirez Chavez the clubs and organizations editor. “Me and the other editors are assistants to the editors in chiefs. ant experience. “I would say it was more stressful. I didnt like working from home especially since i had other schoolwork to do from home. I was forced to prioritize between different school projects. Ramirez-Chavez said.

Due to East High School being hacked and having to shut down their servers. The progression of the yearbook had been halted for 18 days. This created some unforeseen problems such as being unable to work on the yearbook, not being able to upload photos, and an overall chaotic and unpleasant experience.
