It’s 10:40 a.m. and your lunch just started, your stomach is growling and all you can think about is what you’re going to eat. You decide today you’re going to McDonald’s as always. As you’re walking, you think to yourself “I’m getting bored of McDonald’s, I want to try something new.” Which doesn’t sound like a bad idea, only problem is that you have no idea where to find somewhere else, so you get your phone out and search “food near me” Restaurants pop up that you’ve already tried, Wing Stop, Subway, Teriyaki House, etc. but one place you haven’t heard of catches your eye: “La premium Michoacana.” Curious, you use the maps app to give you directions to 1434 Des Moines St. As you get there you can’t help but notice the pink logo and nice outdoor seating they have. As you walk in, you’re hit with a sweet scent. The vibe is so comforting and nice. And you instantly knew coming here wasn’t a mistake.
You’re probably wondering “why I should go here?”
Well for starters, La Premium Michoacana has a variety of items on their menu. A couple of them are milkshakes, Agua fresca’s, a variety of ice cream flavors, churros, nachos, elote (corn), fresas con crema and many more tasty items. Another reason you should try it is because not a lot of students go there during lunch so many times it’s empty. The workers are also very nice and serve you right away. Another thing to mention is that it’s pretty close to East. Walking distance is around a ten-minute walk and driving there is a three-minute drive, so it’s convenient. I would recommend bringing at least $20-25.
If you don’t know what to order, I would recommend getting an elote with chile (if you like spice), an horchata or nachos with cheese. On a scale on one to ten, I would give this place a ten out of ten and would highly recommend coming here if you love Mexican food/snacks.
