B&B’s Grocery, Meat and Deli:
The first restaurant on this list is more like a deli, called B&B’s Grocery, Meat
and Deli. B&B’s is a small business on the south side on 2001 SE 6th St. BnB’s is
mainly a grocery store, but it is more known in the area for their amazing food.
The prices are decent and the food on the menu is good. Since I’ve been there a
couple times, I would recommend the killer tacos, they taste amazing, they taste
fresh and the salsa that comes with it is so good, the taco shell is so crunchy and is
not soggy like the usual shells from other tacos places. Also, I would recommend
the killer deserts, especially the lemon bars, they’re so sweet and tart, with crust
that crumbles when your bite down on it and the powder sugar on top is so good.
Although I did recommend the tacos, there are also killer burgers, breaded killers (breaded meat), pork tenderloins, killer sandwiches, killer sides, and killer desserts
Linas Mexican restaurants:
The next restaurant on this list is a Mexican restaurant
that discovered while I was in the hospital with my dad
and we both were hungry. So, we sat and discussed
what sounds good to eat and we started to look up
some restaurants nearby and Lina’s was the first one to
pop up. So, we ended up getting Mexican food, which
Lina’s was so convenient because it was right across
the street from the Blank Children’s Hospital on 1221
Keosauqua Way Suite 101. I personally recommend
number eight the burrito and enchilada for $10.18
and the number four two tacos for $9.94, the burrito
and enchilada where cooked to perfection and full of
flavor and the rice and beans where nicely seasoned,
not too salty, and the beans tasted amazing with
cheese on top. Fresh made shell and taco meat were
well-seasoned and fresh, with fresh vegetables and rice
and beans were fresh and cheesy
Classic Frozen Custard:
My next recommendation one is a very popular spot for
Southsiders in the summertime, it is called Classic Frozen
Custard or as my family likes to call it “custards over on
4000 SE 14th St.” Even if it has its classic flavor staples
that never change, they always come up with new flavors
keeping the menu fresh. You can’t miss any flavor you
choose, but my personal favorite is a cookies’ n cream
regular cup topped with cookie dough or just a plain
vanilla malt. My mom’s personal favorite is a small turtle
sundae, and my dad’s is a medium twister with Peanut
Butter cups and cookie dough
Pueblo Viejo:
This restaurant, even though it’s another Mexican restaurant, I feel it’s different from Lina’s because it not a
fast-food restaurant, it is a nice dine in restaurant that is
festively decorated and has a warm welcoming atmosphere. It located at 3841 E 14th St. and in my opinion,
is one of the best restaurants on the East side. If you’re
going to stop in, I highly recommend you start off with
the queso and chips with salsa, it will not disappoint.
Everything on the menu is amazing but I like to order the
chicken quesadilla with a virgin strawberry daiquiri. It is
always served in generous portions so there’s plenty to
take home
