East High School has many students, some more known than others. But a student everyone should know is Luis De La Cruz. Cruz is a senior here at East High School and is graduating on May 23 of this year, here are some things you should know about Cruz.

What is a common misconception about?

“I guess a common misconception about me is that I’m smart and get straight A’s.”

What are your plans after graduation?

“After graduation, I just plan on continuing to keep working at my current job and save up my money.”

Have you been involved in activities?

“Yeah I played football my sophomore year, I don’t remember if I played linebacker or quarterback.”

Who is your favorite teacher and what have they taught you?

“Mr. Koch is my favorite teacher, he’s always entertaining.”

Is there anything you regret not doing during your time in high school?

“Probably not locking in my freshmen and sophomore year, I failed a lot of classes, and I would always skip class. I made up my credits, but it made it harder for me my junior and senior year.”

What is your favorite memory of high school?

“so far homecoming is my favorite memory, I went with my friend’s sister. We went downtown, and we got food. But this upcoming prom is also going to be memorable.”

How do you enjoy spending your free time?

“I mostly just spend my free time playing games, going to the gym every now and then, and hanging out with my friends. We go to the gym together sometimes, so that’s pretty nice.”

How are you going to remember East High School once you graduate?

“Definitely all the new friends I made here, most of my friends went to Lincoln so I had to get a whole new friend group, meeting them was pretty nice. I also lost a few friends.”
