Spring Restart
Have you been wondering about a fresh start? Well, it is a perfect time to start thinking about your spring reset, and it can help with your mental health, education, and your day-to-day life. Now you may be wondering why you should start your journey on your spring reset; well, a spring reset can bring you a fresh start out of winter to improve your state of mind and confidence this season.
Since there is less sunlight during winter, there is a lack of melatonin and serotonin which is linked to your mood and efficiency of your wellbeing. So, here are some steps to start the process of your spring reset.
Step one- Set goals for this spring.
“The best way I make goals, so I don’t feel overwhelmed is to align them with my routine. I find making goals work best when I’m well-rested and don’t have anything major planned for the day. In those situations, I’m much more likely to achieve the goals I set,” senior Stephine Cardoza said.
Setting goals will help you progress through your spring reset and improve your mindset with which you can set short-term or long-term goals. Setting goals also means making sure that your goals are realistic, and you can be capable of making them happen. If you find yourself still having trouble making goals, you can always ask a friend or family member to join you on whatever your goal may be.
Step two- Work on finding yourself.
“I think the way students can work on themselves this spring is journaling. It’s something I used to find cliche, but it quite literally works; it helps me inspire myself while also completing my aspirations.” junior Natalie Park says.
Journaling is a great way to start working on yourself this spring and finding and enjoying things that will make you feel relaxed and let your mind have that sense of creativity. Journaling can allow you to write thoughts and feelings down; journaling doesn’t necessarily mean writing emotions you could create a planner and share thoughts or plans for that new art class or gym membership. Finding yourself can be a since most of us are new to high school, or in the middle of high school. No matter what situation you are in, you can totally start working on yourself this spring.
Step three- Deep dive cleaning and organizing
Your next step will be sort of like your hands on Reset, meaning it’s time to clean your space and organize. There is a big difference between cleaning and organizing, so follow carefully. Cleaning is getting your fabulouso and your mop out while organizing is getting your cute shelves or reordering the colors in your closet. The two are very recommended to give your room a cozy and clean feel. Cleaning may be boring or something you don’t have time for, but even cleaning your space one-two times a week is effective for your mood and well-being.
“It can be hard to stay mindful when life gets busy. Creating simple routines—like always putting my keys in the same place or packing my laptop before going to bed—helps make life run a little more smoothly. I wouldn’t consider myself a highly organized person, but I’m getting better at it,” teacher Elizabeth Hardy said
Step four- have fun and be the version of you
The final step you should take for your glamours spring reset should be something that ties everything together. Wearing cute and cozy clothes can boost your mood and you can feel confident doing whatever you may be doing. You want to aim to look your best but always make sure that you feel your best. Getting good sleep, eating healthy, and making sure you drink plenty of water.
“I try to do fun tasks and daily chores, I must get the mindset to be positive, I also make my husband take my junk to the curb and I find humor joy in that. I have four kids, so I always come across something of theirs from when they were younger, and my husband and I like to take a moment and reflect on that period of our lives. It sweetens the deal,” teacher Renita Darrah said.
These are all the steps you need to take to achieve your spring reset, with setting yourself up with goals so nothing can feel overwhelming, to finding yourself through your reset, to even getting tidy and having a clean space for this spring, with doing all these steps you will successfully achieve having fun doing your spring reset.

This is just what I needed to read. I am planning on resetting over break. Actually, I try to reset each day as I drive home. “DAY PART 2” is what I call it. I appreciated this article because it focused readers on being accepting of where we are, yet making room for a positive reset as we move into the new season.
